Preserving History and Empowering Women in Cambridge
When a generous donor stepped up to fund the renovation of the Cambridge Women’s Center, they knew Opus was the right partner to lead the construction. With a specialty in historic restoration and deep experience with integrating modern technology and engineering with existing systems and requirements, Opus transformed the CWC from a single-family home into a fully ADA-compliant commercial structure ready to support the organization and its unique needs. Over the course of two years, elevators and sprinkler systems were installed, eco-friendly materials were incorporated and the structure was reinforced – all while maintaining the historic integrity of the building. Opus was presented with a historic preservation award and recognized by the Mayor of Cambridge, Sumbul Siddiqui, at an emotional ribbon cutting ceremony.
